Hi and welcome to JADa’s Drone World
Today I am showing you the best gift you can get any child in today’s world. So what is the best drones for kids? Well in the buying guide I have picked two of what I consider really exciting.
Unfortunately today many of the games involve sitting and watching with little to no physical activity which without getting to into it is not a healthy look in reality it contributes to the every growing obesity challenges.
Anyway with this amazing gift it is interactive both mentally and physically and that is great.
So back on topic. Drones are becoming a really popular gift for kid and for a really good reasons. Drones provide hours of endless flying fun and expand hand-eye coordination and can help to advance knowledge in science technology, engineering and mathematic (STEM) skills.
But not every drone is suitable to the younger user. Before I get into which drones are the best let me just point out some of the difference type of drones available.
Racing vs Camera Drones
Kid friendly drones normally come in two main types, camera drones and racing drones.
Come with a built-in camera and will allow your child to unleash their creative side.
Racing drones are really designed to encourage they user to customise and optimise their drone for maximum speed. These drones can also be equipped with a camera but require a bit more skill to fly and are more suited to older children who have an interest in science and speed.
Safety is always Essential
The safety is always important no matter who is flying a drone it and I feel that it is my duty here at JADa’s Drone World to inform you of the flight rules.
Whilst drones can provide hours of flying fun time (with battery changes of course), there is also a serious side and understanding the drone safety guidelines is an essential part before you start flying. You can get more in-depth information from the article listed below.
Drone Flying Rules: Drone Laws and Regulations
Please take some time to find out the guidelines in your country. I would also like to point out that because listed for children aged 14+ it is your responsibility as a parent and or guardian to follow the restriction laws and guidelines.
What Features to Consider before Buying a Drone for Your Child
Drones will vary in size and operational methods. It is important to consider the ease of use of the drone before you purchase one as a gift for your child.
Look for a drone that is easy to get started and easy start to make the first day you launch a simple process.
Also make sure that the drone as a quick return to home button so that the drone will return back to your child quickly and safely back to them.
Drones that have intuitive control systems will ensure that you child gets the most out of their drone and it will also encourage your child to learn more if they can master the basics of flying the drone quickly.
Like all toys for children you will want it to be able to withstand the rough and tumble of play.
But unfortunately not all drones are created equal when it comes to being child friendly. So look for a drone that has easy to replace propellers and is designed to be a little forgiving for a few false starts.
Because we do not want any disappointments on the first flight by the drone being a smashed gift.
An important point to consider is the purchase price of your drone. You need to compare the quality of the drone along with the price point.
Buying your drone from a reputable drone manufacturer and drone maker so that you are assured of not just your purchase but the after sales care also.
You need a good customer service and clear method of communicating with them and DJI gives you all that and much more.

Hi and thanks for this valuable tips on what to look out for when buying a drone for my kids.
I never thought that there would be some insurance and registration involved when playing with drones.
It is helpful to know about these things though.
The Spark drone looks fantastic to me by the way, I think my daughter will love it 🙂
Hi Stefan and thank you for your visit and comment much appreciated
Yes I thought that many people would not know if they need to register their drone depending on where in the
world they lived and it is always good to find out before flying. Also it is always good to take out insurance because
it will give that peace of mind.
The Spark Drone is a lovely mini drone and I am sure that you daughter will love it.
Hi Jennifer. There’s lot’s of good information here. Many thanks for your research. I agree that kids these days are spending way too much time sitting down inside. This is a great way to get them to have some fun outside. I think durability will be the biggest deciding factor for me when deciding which one to buy for my tribe.
Hi Andrew and thank you for your visit and comment much appreciated.
Yes I agree that it is a really good way to get children active and it is a lot of fun too.
You mentioned durability and this is one of the main reasons that made me write this article.
What caught my eye initially was when I saw the phrase “pre-flight checklist”. My day job is an airline flight simulator technician (aka Sim Tech), and we have to do these before each and every hand over to customers who are paying big bucks to use our simulators at Glocal One Training Group.
Okay, beyond catching my attention, I liked your attention to detail as you very thoroughly stepped through essential elements of information relative to drone operation. Flight is a much more complicated thing than most folks would imagine, but you did a great of taking something that is very complex. and making it easy to ingest for anyone with limited experience.
Thank you for your visit and comment, much appreciated.
I am so excited to read your comment because you know how important it is to inform customers of the essential attention to detail.
I am grateful for your input and I thank you once again.
Yes I like to make a subject like Drones an easy to digest because I know what is was like when I started learning about Drones.
I actually happened across your article because I was researching drones…for myself! lol. I was thinking that as a newbie your kid suggestions would probably work for a not-so-kid such as myself.I think the tello seems right up my alley. Not only for it’s awesome price point but because it can take awesome pics and I’m kinda excited about learning a bit of coding (as you pointed out) lol. Thanks for the reviews and helping me make a drone decision!
Thank you for your visit and comment, much appreciated.
Yes I hear you, I am a kid at heart myself. lol
These drones are so intelligent and a really good place to start and progress.
The Tello is a very popular Drone for both kids, newbies and starter drones so this makes it a really good and exciting drone.
You will not be disappointed
That’s actually a wonderful review on best drone for kids, it’s well structured and analyzed. I really fell in love for the Spark drone for it’s lot’s of features, especially the embedded 12MP camera and it’s speed too that’s actually amazing and worth it’s price too. I actually want to buy a bike for my grand son’s birthday present, the spark drone is actually nice for him but he’s still tender to handle it, but i can still make it up to him when he’s due of age for that.
Thank you for your visit and comment much appreciated
I am glad that you found this buying guide helpful and useful.
I hope that your Grandson has a wonderful birthday and enjoys his bike. With a drone you could capture some amazing photos of him on his new bike, just a thought
